Willow Weaving Showcase

Welcome to Wildling Arts

Kesia Tucker is an artist from Somerset based in south Wales,

currently studying fine art at UWTSD, working on a multisensory level. She aims to explore different mediums and processes through sight, smell, and touch—whether that’s soaking willow, breathing in the scent of smoke, or hearing the snips of tidying a basket.

For the act of making is just as important, if not more so, than the finished outcome.

Their practice embraces a sense of freedom, grounded in a ritualistic process of making and seeing—something akin to a personal religion and a way of being, connecting to the world around.

Weaving feelings and narratives into being, exploring different environments while also wanting to help others to learn from and make their own connections.

The work is always driven by a desire to wonder, to observe closely, and to engage with foraged and grown materials—learning about them, using them, and blending them with this chosen medium of willow.

Being drawn to older ways of living and learning from practical traditional methods that offer kinder approaches to our planet, exploring how these practices have evolved and changed over time.
